"Through Channels" by Richard Matheson. Try to find a copy of Groff Conklin's SCIENCE FICTION TERROR TALES. Besides "Channels" it has "The Leech" by Robert Sheckley, and lots of other great stories.

In a similar vein, try Nick Hornby's "Otherwise Pandemonium" in McSWEENEY'S MAMMOTH TREASURY OF THRILLING TALES (2002), about a VCR with singular attributes!

That story actually appeared in DC comics' PLOP! It was in one of the first three issues, and was illustated by Wrightson. OK, it was called "The Gourmet" and appeared in issue #1.
